Short Bio

Giovanni Lonia is a Ph.D. candidate in Artificial Intelligence for Society at the Università degli Studi di Pisa, within the National Ph.D. Program in Artificial Intelligence (XL cycle). His operative host is the University of Messina. His research explores AI within the Cloud-Edge Continuum, with a particular emphasis on the Healthcare domain.

He has gained extensive experience in the field of Tele-Rehabilitation, actively collaborating with the IRCCS Centro Neurolesi “Bonino-Pulejo” in Messina. His work aims to improve clinical outcomes and foster patient trust in emerging technologies while preserving privacy. He began publishing scientific papers during his tenure as a research fellow on the Tele-Rehabilitation as a Service (TRaaS) project.
